You don't have to be a student to travel with Rail Europe Youth Austria-Hungary passes. If you're under 26 years of age you can travel for cheap on the Austrian and Hungarian railroads.
Interested in taking a train from Vienna to Budapest? Austria and Hungary are amongst a growing list of popular travel destinations for many tourists and train travel is the preferred method of getting around!
Many travelers who visit Austria and Hungary agree that rail travel is not only an affordable way to go, but its fun as well!
Car rental is another option, however, keep in mind that you'll need to pay for parking, translate road signs and fill the tank up along the way from Vienna to Budapest (at nearly triple the price you pay back home). By driving from one city to another you miss the exquisite landscape that surrounds you unlike taking a train where you can sit and watch the sights.
For travel within Austria and Hungary, get an Austria-Hungary pass. You can travel all around each country and then hop on a train from Budapest to Vienna or vice versa to travel between each.
